What Can’t the iPhone Do

ocarina-iphone-app

Now it’s a bonified musical instrument.  Wind instrument to be exact. Using the microphone as a sensor, the iPhone application Ocarina can produce musical notes using four touch sensors as finger holes.  The app also takes advantage of the accelerometer, using left-to-right movement to control Vibrato and front-to-back movement to control Timbre.

Looks very cool, and since it’s only $0.99, I’m going to download it tonight and check it out.  I’ll let you know how it turns out, but judging by this YouTube video, it appears legit.

  1. I’ve seen quite a few cool iPhone apps, but this one looks AWESOME! They’ve made brilliant use of all of the hardware available to turn it into a musical instrument – wow!

    Nice find :D

  2. Copy and paste and MMS. Sorry but you asked to i had too.

  3. Touché :)

You can solve both those problems via Jailbreak, but that’s more of a band-aid than a solution.
